West Shore Home® Provides Denver Area Vietnam Veteran with a New Shower through West Shore for Warriors Initiative
West Shore Home®, one of the fastest growing home remodeling companies in the nation, is leading up to Veterans Day by providing deserving veterans with a new bath or shower. The installations will take place now through November. In total, the company is gifting eight new showers to select veterans nationwide.
Denver area veteran Charles Martinez is the recipient a new, safety enhanced walk-in shower. Martinez is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, receiving both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He was on the ground during Operation Apache Snow, which led to one of the bloodiest battles of the war, Hamburger Hill.
Martinez joined the Marines when he was 18-years old. He earned the Bronze Star for dragging four of his fellow wounded Marines to safety after coming under enemy fire. He was wounded in the process.
“I am very excited to get this new shower,” said Martinez. “The biggest benefit is the safety and not having to step in and out of the bathtub. I am so grateful.”
West Shore Home removed Martinez’s old tub, replacing it with a new, walk-in shower. There are two grab bars and a magnetic handheld showerhead to make the shower experience safer and easier.
