West Shore Home Nominated for Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award

Aug. 11, 2023 – Mechanicsburg, Pa. – West Shore Home®, one of the fastest growing home remodeling brands in the nation, has been nominated for a 2023 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Under the category of Branded Content, the team of Kirsten Page (Producer), John MacDonald (Editor), and Neil Muro (Cinematographer) are nominated for their story of World War II veteran Donald Shank as part of the West Shore for Warriors™ initiative.It’s the company’s first-ever Emmy nomination.

Shank, who is from Manheim, Pa., was drafted into the Army right out of high school in1946 and served in Japan during its occupation by the United States. He was honorably discharged in 1947 for medical reasons. Shank relived his service with the West Shore Home team, including how he helped a barefoot Japanese boy buy a desperately needed pair of shoes.

Just as he helped that young boy, West Shore Home was honored to help Shank. In 2022, Shank was selected to receive a new shower through West Shore for Warriors™. The company donated and installed the shower equipped with grab bars and a teak shower seat to help him safely bathe on his own.

The mission of West Shore for Warriors™ is to serve U.S. veterans, active military members, and their families. The center of the initiative is its bath installs where select veterans are gifted a free shower with enhanced safety features to help improve their daily life.

Award winners will be selected during the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Ceremony on October 14, 2023 in Lancaster, Pa.
