Topeka, Kan. – West Shore Home, one of the fastest growing home remodeling companies in the nation, gifted a new, safety-enhanced shower to Retired U.S. Army veteran Sgt. Richey Miles of Topeka, Kan. through its West Shore for Warriors® program. The new shower is greatly enhancing his safety and ability to age in place after a recent foot amputation.

“This is a burden lifted off of me. My family now feels safe and secure that I won’t risk a fall and hurt myself trying to get over the bathtub,” said Miles.

West Shore Home removed Sgt. Miles’ old, outdated unit and installed a new, safety-enhanced low-step shower with grab bars and a teak shower seat.

Miles was medically retired after his last deployment, ultimately serving 16 years in the Army, including the war in Kosovo and Liberia. He was honored with a Four-Star General coin for helping save three Liberian citizens from drowning.
