West Shore Home, one of the fastest growing home remodeling companies in the nation is proud to announce it is sponsoring another Susquehanna Service Dog (SSD) with the arrival of SSD Remy. This is the second assistance dog sponsored by the company, the first being SSD Westie.
SSD Remy is named after West Shore Home’s vision of becoming the nation’s most admired home remodeling brand. She is a 12-week-old, black Labrador retriever. She will live with her puppy raiser for the next 15 to 18 months. During that time, she will learn good house manners, self-control, and over 20 different foundational cues. SSD Remy will then be matched with her partner, where she will enter advanced training to learn specific tasks to meet their unique needs.

Each dog placed by Susquehanna Service Dogs is individually trained to mitigate their partner’s disability and enhance their life. Dogs can assist people with physical disabilities that impact mobility or balance, as well as people with psychiatric disabilities, autism, PTSD, and seizure disorders. SSD also trains hearing dogs to assist people with hearing impairments, as well as facility dogs.
