Baltimore Area Veteran Gifted Therapeutic Tub in Honor of Veterans Day

Annual Baths for the Brave initiative aims to improve the lives of our nation’s veterans

Nov. 8, 2021 – Mechanicsburg, Pa. – West Shore Home, the fastest growing home remodeling company in the United States, is marking Veterans Day by providing new showers or baths to deserving veterans nationwide. In the Baltimore region, U.S. Marine Corps veteran Carrel Reavis, Jr. of Millford Mill is the recipient of one of 2021’s Baths for the Brave.

Baths for the Brave is a partnership among multiple home improvement companies nationwide. The goal is to improve the lives of veterans who are disabled or have experienced hardships that prevent them from completing everyday tasks such as bathing.  West Shore Home has provided Reavis with a therapeutic walk-in tub and two additional grab bars for safety.

“West Shore Home is proud to be a part of Baths for the Brave year after year,” said B.J. Werzyn, President, CEO and Founder, West Shore Home. “We are committed to serving our nation’s veterans, not only through outreach programs, but through veteran hiring and training in all of our markets nationwide.”

Reavis is a Purple Heart recipient. He was stationed in Kuan Tri Valley in North Vietnam from June 1968 to February 1969. After serving his country, Reavis spent 40 years as a high school football coach at both Forest Park High School and Edmonson-Westside High School in the Baltimore area.

“I survived traumatic injuries in Vietnam. It was nothing but the grace of God that allowed me to pull through,” said Reavis.

“This is the greatest gift that I am receiving from a company that’s showing wounded veterans pure love,” said Reavis. “The tub is such a wonderful means for me to comfort my body in a therapeutic manner.”
