Mechanicsburg, PA

Sgt. Teddy Lloyd, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has shown his dedication to this country his entire life. At 17, he enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War. When his obligation was complete, Lloyd enlisted in the Navy SEABEES in 1970. A decade later, he voluntarily joined the Army National Guard in order to serve in the Gulf War.

After distinguished service in both the Army and Navy, Lloyd went on to guide the next generation of service members as a JROTC leader and a recruiter. Lloyd has accomplished a lot in his lifetime and says he would do it all again. West Shore Home gifted him a new safety enhanced walk-in shower as a part of our West Shore for Warriors program. Thank you Teddy Lloyd for your service, dedication and bravery in defending our country.

Manheim, PA

Donald Shank of Manheim, PA. joined the Army in 1946 and served in Japan during its occupation by the United States. The 96-year-old was the first recipient of West Shore for Warriors bath installations.

The centerpiece of West Shore for Warriors is bath installations. Each year around Veterans Day, we provide a new bath or shower to select, deserving veterans. The initiative also encompasses veteran hiring, recruiting and training, and non-profit outreach such as the Marine Corps Toys for Tots and Wreaths Across America.

Lancaster, PA

Walter Puff, a 102-Year-Old World War II Veteran, lives with his daughter near Lancaster, PA. Puff was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces, and served from September 1942 to December 1945.

He was responsible for loading 500-pound bombs onto aircraft and was stationed in the U.S., India, and the Island of Tinian in the Pacific Campaign. We had the privilege of learning more about his story and how his new shower is going to allow him to continue to live in comfort.
